What are the Nutritional Value modules?

The Nutritional Value modules help you understand the impact of storage conditions on your hay over time. Based on the temperature data recorded by HAYTECH and the information you provide about your crop, the Mold Risk (FVI) and Hay Composition modules assess the quality of your forage and provide you with personalized estimates.

To generate these estimates, all you need to do is fill in a few pieces of information about your hay, including cut number, harvest date, forage species and stage of development at harvest.

Mold Risk Module (FVI)

The Mold Risk (FVI) module analyzes the temperature history of your hay to estimate the impact of heating on forage quality. Instead of relying solely on the smell or appearance of the hay, you can detect batches that may pose a risk more quickly. With the Mold Risk (FVI) module, you can:

  • Detect signs of overheating early.
  • Identify risk areas within haystacks.
  • Identify the batches to be distributed as a priority.
  • Contribute to a healthier diet for your herd

Hay Composition Module

The Hay Composition module estimates the main indicators of the nutritional value of your hay based on its temperature history and the information you provide about your harvest.

You get estimates for:

  • Crude Protein (CP): an indicator of the protein content of your forage.
  • Neutral Detergent Fibre (NDF): an indicator of fibre content, used to assess the quality of the forage.

These estimates help you to better adapt your herd's diet throughout the storage period.

How does the free trial work?

It's easy: activate the Nutritional Value modules in the HAYTECH app and immediately access the Mold Risk (FVI) and Hay Composition modules.

What you need to know:

  • Activate your trial directly from the HAYTECH app.
  • An active HAYTECH subscription is required.
  • The Nutritional Value modules are available at no additional cost until March 31, 2027.
  • The earlier you activate your trial, the longer you'll enjoy the modules before they become a paid option.
  • At the end of the trial period, your access will simply end. No paid subscriptions will be activated automatically and you will not be charged any fees.
  • From 31 March 2027, the Nutritional Value modules will be offered as an option with your HAYTECH subscription.
